Signed by the publisher and the editors in the first volume of each set. All eighteen volumes are uniformly bound in full crushed brown morocco leather with top edges gilt, elaborate gilt turn-ins and green morocco leather doublures, and watered silk endpapers. Frontispieces and several additional illustrated plates inserted throughout, in two states with captioned tissue guards. With the surprising provenance of being from Sylvester Stallone's library, with a small printed library plate laid into the first book of each set. Very good. Item #1308

Robert Browning (1812-1889) was an English poet and playwright whose mastery of the dramatic monologue made him one of the foremost Victorian poets. His poems are known for their irony, characterization, dark humour, social commentary, historical settings, and challenging vocabulary and syntax. Elizabeth Browning was his spouse. Quote: "TGrow old with me! The best is yet to be."

E.B. Browning (1806-1861) was an English poet of the Victorian era, popular in Britain and the United States during her lifetime. Born in County Durham, the eldest of 12 children, Elizabeth Barrett wrote poetry from the age of eleven. Works include: "Sonnets From the Portugese," "Aurora Leigh," and "Poems."
